Staff and students embraced the return of the College’s annual Athletics Carnival; each team of Year 11 students made a healthy profit at this year’s Business Carnival; Year 9 Food Studies students were the first to cook up a storm in the newly renovated kitchen and VCE Vocational Major students held sausage sizzles to raise over $1,000 to assist refugees through the Sharing Hope Refugee Centre. There have been many events that have taken place this term, especially over the last few weeks.The most recent being Harmony Day where staff and students donned their cultural gear and celebrated our diversity with pride and enthusiasm; the 2023 College Council has been named; some students enjoyed attending camp; NAPLAN testing took place. We are so proud, and excited to kick off 2023 in the wake of last year’s outstanding results of our hard-working staff and students; the College welcomes a new wave of dedicated staff and Year 7 students; the Class of 2023 attended a study skills camp at Ballarat’s Federation University; building works and refurbishments are well under-way; the 2023 SRC has been named; College Captains have assumed their posts – so much has already taken place and we’re only halfway through Term 1. Our Wakakirri team has once again done us proud being nominated for two national awards. Students were engaged in a variety of incursions on topics including the impacts of alcohol, the deadly coward punch and the complexities of being a responsible road-user. Some even stepped back in time to become immersed in Shakespeare’s tale of Macbeth. Year 10 students hit the jackpot weather-wise the day they ventured into Melbourne’s CBD to familiarise themselves with some iconic landmarks. Read more . . .

Although the weather may have been a little ordinary of late, it hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm of staff and students to embrace school life and all it offers. We have at long last been able to host our Junior and Senior Mid-Year Honours evenings and celebrate the successes of our students in the manner in which they deserve. Our Course Selection Expo 2023 was well received by the school community.
