It’s that time of year again! The Class of 2023 has flown the coop, leaving behind them impressive results. Our Year 7 and Year 9 students also did themselves proud smashing NAPLAN in almost all areas. College Captains for 2024 have been named; building works are back on track.

The 2023 College Wakakirri team has already done us proud, and the final winner hasn’t even been announced yet; we’re waving off a delegation of students as they embark on a journey to our sister school in Italy for the first time since COVID; staff and students alike have dressed up in support of all manner of worthwhile causes. The highlight of the year so far has to be the recent Junior and Senior Mid-Year honours evenings where the success of students was celebrated in style; the Course Selection Expo was held at the college to assist students with their decision making and preparation for 2024; several students studying Italian participated in the Dante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition with great results and students across all year levels have been cooking up a storm. Well, the winter freeze might be upon us, but it hasn’t chilled the enthusiasm of our dedicated staff and students. The College was abuzz during the mid-year exam period; we hosted a variety of engaging programs designed to steer our students towards being the best that they can be; Year 10 students participated in the work experience program and Year 12’s wore their pyjamas to school. Staff and students embraced the return of the College’s annual Athletics Carnival; each team of Year 11 students made a healthy profit at this year’s Business Carnival; Year 9 Food Studies students were the first to cook up a storm in the newly renovated kitchen and VCE Vocational Major students held sausage sizzles to raise over $1,000 to assist refugees through the Sharing Hope Refugee Centre. Episode 6 2016 – The one about ‘The Athletics Carnival’
Episode 6 of Hoppers TV showcases not only one but two carnivals held at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College. The Athletics Carnival was a huge success where students were able to show their athletic abilities. The second carnival allowed students to practice their business skills by running a small business within the school and selling goods to the other students. As always we have our favourite segment Street Talk!!
