On Tuesday 1st September, it was announced that Hoppers Crossing Secondary College was successful in making it through to the 2015 Wakakirri Finals for the second consecutive year. Students will compete against other Victorian Schools for Victorian Story of the Year on Wednesday 16th September at Hamer Hall.
The 2015 performance is titled ‘Dream.Believe.Achieve’ and portrays the story of young girls trying to achieve her dream of graduating secondary school. She encounters a range of negative emotions and barriers that try to stop her from achieving her dream, but will she be able to overcome these barriers to achieve her goal?
The judges at the heats commented that our performance had a “Very clear story and structure.” The judges went on to add that the performance had “Clever, smooth transitions. All of your elements, conventions and stage craft built and married to empower the story. Creative choreography that successfully communicated its objectives.”
We wish the entire team; performers, back stage, hair & make-up and the amazing team of teachers involved in this production, the very best of luck. We cannot wait to see our students perform on the big stage and hopefully come away with the best story award on the night!
