‘DIFFERENTIATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS’!

On behalf of the College Council and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff,
I would like to welcome you to our College and thank you for choosing Hoppers Crossing Secondary College as your preferred choice for your child’s secondary education. Our school is a great school for many reasons.

Over the past 5 years, students at our College have consistently rated many aspects of our learning environment well above state benchmarks in the following areas

  • School Connectedness
  • Student Safety
  • Student Motivation
  • School Morale
  • Student Morale
  • Teacher Effectiveness
  • Teacher Empathy
  • Stimulating Learning and
  • Student Distress

as areas that have experienced significant positive change.

The College provides an extensive semester-based curriculum for all students in order for them to gain a more in-depth understanding about various subject areas. Our academic culture is based on the expectation that all students can learn and that failure is not an option. We emphasise that attitude and effort are extremely important in the achievement of academic success.

College Values

Throughout the year students and teachers constantly refer to the words of: Respect, Responsibility, Strong Work Ethic and Cooperation, as these words reflect the values of the College Council, student leaders, staff and students in order to demonstrate to the local community, our collective belief in the education of young people today.

Achieving the ‘Extra-ordinary’

In addition to the above, your child will be encouraged to ‘achieve the extra-ordinary’ in everything they do within the College. We, as a school community, are very proud of our efforts so far and I encourage the involvement of all parents/carers in the development of our academic culture over the next few years.

All parents/carers of the College can rest assured that the teaching staff at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College will do their very best to provide every child with the necessary educational opportunities to achieve success across a number of different elective and core based subjects and reach his or her full potential.
