This episode covers 2 very different kinds of learning experiences students wanted to share on HoppersTV. The first covers the 2015 China Delegation and their overseas learning experiences of global citizenship and discovery, learning language, culture and the joy of volunteerism. The second experience is about learning poetry, with some powerful themes of friendship, arguments and resolving conflicts – all told in a poem!
Newsline Issue 6 – 4th November 2015
The year winds down with formal classes for the Class of 2015 coming to and end, end of year celebrations are in full swing, and external exams underway. 2016 College Captains and Vice Captains were announced. Episode 15 2015 – The one about ‘Staff vs Students Dodgeball’
This episode the SRC thanks and congratulates our amazing student body for the fundraising efforts this year. Well done! We remember our (now graduated) Year 12s with footage of the Staff vs Students dodgeball game. We look forward to the Bianco-Nero Ball, hear from our VET Community Service students, and also start our new series: ‘What are you loving in your class today?’. Enjoy!
Episode 14 2015 – The one about ‘The Class of 2015’
This episode pays tribute to the graduating ‘Class of 2015’. The Class of 2015 have had quite journey since beginning at the College in 2010. Some students have been with the College since Year 7, others have joined us along the way, but today they all graduate together as one. Thank-you to College Captain, Toby Armour, for putting this tribute together. From the entire College community, we wish all Year 12 students the very best in their upcoming exams and hope they leave the College ready to take on the exciting world beyond the gates of Hoppers Crossing Secondary College.

Episode 13 2015 – The one about ‘The Italian Delegation’
This episode covers the exciting arrival of the 2015 Italian Delegation! We welcome delegates from our sister school in Forli and find out a little more about life in Italy, as well as destroy some stereotypes. It was great to welcome them with a Year 11 Pep Assembly. Episode 12 2015 – The one about ‘Be Yourself’
This episode covers the Year 9 High Resolves School Action Project ‘Be Yourself Day’, the Year 10 Pep Assembly (hosted by the Estancia Eagles) and features an E-Smart film to raise awareness of bullying and technology. We also look forward to welcoming students from our Italian sister school ‘Liceo Scientifico’. Lastly, watch out Year 12s for ‘Super Friday’ next week.
Year 12 student awarded ‘Young Leader of the Year’
Tom Van Duijne of Year 12 has been awarded by the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing, as the 2015 Young Leader of the Year. We’re in the Wakakirri Finals!
Hoppers Crossing Secondary College was successful in making it through to the 2015 Wakakirri Finals for the second consecutive year. Students will compete against other Victorian Schools for Victorian Story of the Year on Wednesday 16th September at Hamer Hall.
Episode 11 2015 – The one about the Refugees & Asylum Seekers
This episode is led by our Year 12 Geography class, who teach us a little about refugees and asylum seekers. They are collecting donations for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, and share with the whole school why the experiences of asylum seekers and refugees can be so difficult. Remember, you can assist by bringing in simple household items! Also, we meet the 2015 China Delegation for the first time as they start fundraising for their exciting adventure in September.
