End of year celebrations for our Year 12 students are generally not for the feint-hearted, and this year proved to be no exception! Our most senior students enjoyed a fitting farewell to their secondary schooling before heading off to begin their final exam preparation. Rather than winding down it seems this term has screeched to a halt. There has been so much happening at the College, but most recently our amazing and talented Wakakirri Team was victorious again this year winning the State Finals with their piece titled ‘The Race of Life’. In addition we have hosted Book Week, Year 11 Movie and Games Nights, a Careers Carnival, Year 12 Super Friday, Year 7 Trivia Night – and that’s just the beginning. Read more . . .

Our talented students impressed their audience at the Senior School Music Night amidst a term jam-packed with teaching and learning in both the Junior and Senior Schools. Excursions, camps, interschool sport, work experience, Dante Alighieri Italian poetry competition, and preparing for the upcoming Wakakirri performing arts event are just a few of the events that made up this term. It’s been a busy year so far at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College. After 34 years at the College we farewell our Principal, Mr Wayne Terrill who is moving on to a new and exciting chapter in his career, we farewell staff member Yan Naidoo, who sadly and suddenly passed away at home, students have participated in all manner of extra-curricular activities such as camps, incursions, excursions and challenges.

Our 2018 Student Representative Council is unveiled plus new and returning staff are introduced; the 2017 Hoppers Crossing Secondary College delegation recounts their recent trip to the USA; Year 12 students attended a Study Skills Camp at the University of Melbourne; new Year 7 students and their families enjoyed a Welcome Barbecue and our first major fundraiser for the year – Pancake Day was a massive success. Well, another school year is all but done, but just as 2017 wound down, preparations ramped up for another jam-packed year in 2018. In the last few weeks alone senior students sat exams, took part in transition classes, visited Deakin University and danced the night away at the Year 10 Formal. Not long after the delegation from our Italian sister school in Forli heads home after a jam packed visit to Hoppers Crossing, Australia, our China delegation darts off on its own overseas learning experience. We really are global citizens!
