ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

“We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the traditional Owners of the land on which we are meeting and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present and emerging. We thank them for sharing the land in which we live, work, and learn on.”

The Boon wurrung People The Boon wurrung or Boonerwrung people are the traditional owners of the country that commences at Werribee River and spreads around the coastal part of Melbourne then East as far as Wilson’s Promontory. The word Boon means “to speak or with the lips” and wurrung means language of the people. The Boon wurrung are part of the larger Kulin nation.

 

 

I acknowledge Australia’s First Nation and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the Traditional Custodians of lands, waterways, and skies across Australia. 

I acknowlegde the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation.
