2015 Wakakirri Heats – ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’

Candace ShawLatest News, Wakakirri

On Monday 10th August, Hoppers Crossing Secondary College performed in the 2015 Wakakirri Secondary School Competition.

Over 70 parents, siblings, students and teachers, attended the performance night at the Clocktower Centre, Moonee Ponds to watch this year’s performance titled ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’.

The story follows a young girl who faces many internal and external barriers while working towards achieving her dream of graduating Year 12.

All the student dancers, singers and backstage crew were absolutely outstanding on the day and put on an absolute blockbuster performance for all those in the audience.

The College was awarded with the ‘Sustainability Award’ on the night for our innovative use of recycled and re-used materials throughout our production.

We eagerly await in anticipation for the 1st September, when we find out whether we will again compete for ‘Victorian Story of the Year’ at Hammer Hall, in the 2015 Victorian Final.

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to all those involved in this years’ performance, especially to the dancers, singers and back stage crew.

A special mention to the amazing team of teachers who make this possible every year; Ms Moselen, Ms Afuie, Ms Collinson & Ms Elmer. Thank-you also to Mr Bourke and Ms Petridis for their assistance on the day.

We will keep our fingers crossed for back to back finals attendance this year.

Some images of the students rehearsing on the day can be viewed in the slideshow below.

Please note – Professional images and DVD of the performance will be available in the coming weeks. Please check the College website for updates.
